OVERVIEW
Balduina is a residential neighborhood of Rome with over 50,000 inhabitants and well-defined geographical boundaries. Rome’s inhabitants had always considered Balduina a residential neighborhood, preferring to move to the nearby neighborhood of Prati for shopping and social activities (restaurants, cinemas, theaters, etc.). The need arises to re-evaluate the neighborhood, supporting the commercial activities in the area and stimulating local entrepreneurship.

We have created Balduina’s, a business network that involves 60 commercial establishments in the Balduina neighborhood that, brought together under the same legal entity, can systematize different expertise and resources to undertake joint actions in support of revaluation and economic growth of the neighborhood.
The project to support the Balduina’s business network has developed along three main lines:
- a digital platform was developed to give visibility to the commercial establishments involved;
- a dedicated complementary currency system was identified;
- pilot projects were launched within the neighborhood to introduce the typical logics, dynamics and technologies of smart cities.

- creation of mockup of the digital platform
- mapping of stakeholders
- analysis of best practices at the international level
- development of the technical-informatic architecture of the digital platform
- launch of the platform and pilot on a sample of commercial activities
- management of training sessions on the implemented technology
- structuring of the complementary currency system
